NBTA member Steve Laird of Fort Worth's Law Offices of Steven C. Laird was honored by fellow members of the Tarrant County Trial Lawyers Association with the 2015 H.G. Wells Outstanding Trial Lawyer Award.

The annual honor is presented to a practicing lawyer who primarily represents injured plaintiffs in personal injury litigation. Honorees must have exhibited a career commitment to high ethical standards, exceptional professional conduct, trial advocacy skills and legal accomplishments. The award is named for the late Fort Worth trial lawyer H.G. Wells, who served as a confidant, mentor and inspiration for many local attorneys before his death in 2008.

"It is an incredible honor to be recognized by other members of the Tarrant Country Trial Lawyers Association, particularly since this award is based on the many years of dedicated service that Mr. Wells contributed to the community here in Fort Worth," says Mr. Laird, who received the award Nov. 18. "I am similarly honored to represent our plaintiff clients, who call on us when they are confronted with life-changing experiences that require the care and expertise we provide in every case we handle."

Mr. Laird is Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law and Civil Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He also holds a national certification from the National Board of Trial Advocacy, and he is one of the few Texas lawyers to earn a Master of Laws degree from the acclaimed trial advocacy program at Temple University Beasley School of Law in Philadelphia.
